Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better popularly known as Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer hailing from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her first EP, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 was released by Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn fame. Shea Butter Baby, her first album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet back in 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. She continued to upload her music online in 2014, with the release of her independent single Bound. In 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album with the track "Sweat it out" on the 21st of July. J. Cole, who was a member of the Dreamville crew at the time, wanted to have her work on Rihanna reference. She officially was signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. On the Album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat with Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, she debuted her first EP called Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. The singer also performed on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus alongside Bas as her labelmates. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th July of this year. The first single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream came out October 5, 2018, with unreleased music videos. She dropped her follow-up single called Grampa on the 9th of November. On November 13 two new singles titled No One and Pedigree. She then appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, which was then released as a single on February 26 2019 for her debut album of the same title. The music video premiered on the 20th of February in conjunction with the song. Within a matter of a week it was viewed more than 3,000,000 times. She was the supporting act for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
